Expanding Horizons Through Educational Exposure
In 2026, Subhadra Charitable Trust (SCT) reached another significant milestone by receiving the Work Order from the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Government of Jharkhand, to serve as the implementing agency for a large-scale educational exposure initiative.
Under this programme, approximately 1,82,000 students from PM SHRI schools were provided with opportunities to go beyond traditional classrooms and experience science, technology, education, culture, history, innovation and industry firsthand through educational exposure visits conducted within Jharkhand and to destinations across Odisha and Kolkata.
The initiative was designed to inspire curiosity, broaden perspectives and help students connect classroom learning with the real world.
Educational Exposure Across Odisha
Students had the opportunity to visit and experience some of Odisha’s leading educational, scientific, cultural and heritage destinations, including:
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar
- Institute of Physics (IOP)
- National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)
- Skill Development Institute (SDI) & Nandankanan Zoological Park
- Regional Museum of Natural History & Science Centre
- SC & ST Tribal Museum & Odisha State Museum
- Kala Bhoomi, Khandagiri & Udayagiri Caves, Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Konark Sun Temple & Chandrabhaga Sea Beach
These visits created opportunities for students to observe, explore, question and learn beyond textbooks—connecting education with experience and knowledge with discovery.
Exploring Kolkata: Learning Beyond the Classroom
The educational journey continued in Kolkata, where students were introduced to renowned institutions, scientific centres, museums, cultural landmarks and sporting heritage:
- Jagadish Chandra Bose Institute & Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta)
- Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Eden Gardens, Science City & Victoria Memorial
- Eco Park & Mother’s Wax Museum
- Naval Aircraft Museum & Alipore Zoological Garden
- National Library of India & Indian Museum, and several other educational and cultural destinations
For many students, these experiences offered a first-hand opportunity to interact with institutions and environments that they had previously encountered only through textbooks and classrooms.
"From Classrooms to Campuses. From Curiosity to Confidence. Through its initiatives, Subhadra Charitable Trust continues to create meaningful bridges between students and the world of knowledge—connecting classrooms with laboratories, textbooks with real-world experiences, and aspirations with opportunities."
